Most water heaters last 8-12 years. Happy SPRING!

Check the temperature setting on your water heater. It should be set no higher than 120°F to prevent scalding and reduce energy use. Here in Texas you don’t need as much energy to heat your water heater in the summer since its so hot.
Also, spring is a good time to carefully drain several gallons from the water heater tank to flush out corrosion causing sediment, which reduces heating efficiency and shortens the life of the heater.
